The ongoing offseason saw two biggest deals in the history of the NBA. Firstly, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown signed the biggest deal worth $304 million for a five-year extension. And then Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis signed a three-year extension deal worth $186 million. The contract fetched the biggest annual salary worth $62 million. But hours after the announcement, former NBA Champion took a sly dig at the league.

This isn’t the first time where a player has questioned the policy of the league. Notably, former Minnesota Timberwolves star Austin Rivers recently questioned the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) terms and raised his concerns regarding the safety of mid-level players. Moreover, the 30-year-old is yet to land a team in the offseason ever since he became a free agent.

Former Celtics star Kevin Garnett has made several calls during his career. He sent out a bold tweet questioning the league, hours after Anthony Davis‘ extension deal.

The tweet read, “A lot of big salaries but where is the mid level bread? Is it max dollars or damn near minimum.”

Furthermore, these questions arise after the wake of the new CBA terms which protect the interest of minimum salary cap. Additionally, the terms have also helped the star players to reach max contract in the last few seasons.

Importantly, the recent changes in CBA terms were constructed under the leader of the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. However, it hasn’t brought any effect to the mid-level players.

Notably, the 15x NBA All-Star played a 21-season-long career and bagged only $336 million in total while the current players bag them within 10 years.

In addition to his previous tweet, he also added another tweet which read, “Helmets and cleats please.” While there isn’t any clarity on the intention behind the tweet, fans mentioned that he referred ‘Helmets’ to protect himself from the forthcoming attack.
