The NBA has been gradually gaining popularity in America, as it attempts to catch up with the NFL and MLB. But on the world stage, basketball is the second most popular sport, behind soccer. This has made NBA players global superstars, which has led to NBA stars signing multi-million dollar deals with sportswear manufacturers and luxury fashion labels. Nowadays, players have become influencers, as the fans want to emulate their style and persona.

One player known for his style and bold fashion choices is Kyle Kuzma. And recently, Kyle’s mother congratulated his supermodel girlfriend, Winnie Harlow, for her major achievement.

Born on July 24, 1995, in Flint, Michigan. Kuzma began his NBA career in 2017 after being selected 27th overall by the Brooklyn Nets and subsequently traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. After LeBron joined the Lakers in 2018, the Lakers traded many young players like Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Julius Randle for Anthony Davis.

LeBron’s confidence in Kuzma’s skills led to Kuzma becoming a vital component of the Lakers squad that clinched the 2020 NBA championship. During his stint in the ‘City of Angels’, Kuzma gained a reputation for his bold fashion choices.

He also garnered attention from mainstream media for dating supermodel Winnie Harlow. Kuzma and Harlow started dating in April 2020. Recently, Harlow appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine and Kyle’s mother, Karri Kuzma, congratulated her on Instagram. “Mama” Kuz posted a story of Winnie on her Instagram handle with the caption, “You can’t say you are a model…unless you’ve been on Vogue”.

This line is a direct reference to Drake’s hit song, ‘Jimmy Cooks’. Nowadays, Kuzma has been plying his trade for the Washington Wizards after being traded by the Lakers in 2021.

Washington Wizards in Unchartered Territory

The 2023-24 season will mark the first time the Wizards won’t feature the talismanic presence of Bradley Beal. The Phoenix Suns traded for Beal in the offseason with veteran point guard Chris Paul coming the other way. Wizards dealt Paul to the Warriors in return for flashy young guard, Jordan Poole.

The Wizards have completely overhauled their roster and are looking to start afresh. Poole and Kuzma provide a solid base to build upon. They also added super-efficient point guard Tyus Jones to their roster. The partnership of him and Poole in the back-court could provide a platform for the Wizards to launch a playoff push. With talented young players like Deni Avdija and Bilal Coulibaly, the Wizards could be the surprise package of the season.
