The 2023-24 regular NBA season began on a high note for the Los Angeles Clippers. The team recorded a 123-111 win in the opener against the Portland Trail Blazers. However, things took a turn in the second game when they lost against the Utah Jazz despite an impressive outing from Paul George. Last night, they bounced back by defeating the San Antonio Spurs in a 40-point blowout.
But it seems PG13 intends to take things into his own hands. The hopes of Clippers fans to win the championship are at an all time high. And it looks like George’s plan might actually help them.

Despite his smooth handle and jump shot, Paul George built his reputation as a two-way player. And he intends to build on that image. When talking to the media recently, the 8x All-Star made some bold claims about his plans. Paul George shared that his “job is to make life hell for whoever he is guarding each night.”

And there is no doubt on that when taking into account his four selections to the NBA All-Defensive Team.
George is a versatile offensive threat who can score from all three levels, along with being an elite perimeter defender. Since the start of the season, he has been giving some solid performances. This comes after missed many games last season due to injury.
During a twitch stream in late September, Paul George said that he fully intends to be on his “bully sh*t” this upcoming season. With his statement from yesterday, this seems more like a promise he will fulfil.
Can the Clippers win the title?
There is a high possibility for a championship when considering the roster that the Clippers have. Along with George, they also have Kawhi Leonard.

Earlier this year, they re-signed Russell Westbrook, who has been playing consistently so far. And with the insistence of the team to retain Terance Mann, there are hopes of him playing well too.
Since their founding into the league in 1970, the Clippers have never won a league or conference title. But now, with the combination of players that they have, there is a slight hope for this to happen. In order to do so, the veterans must stay healthy throughout the entire regular season. At the same time, younger players like Mann and Bones Hyland must step up and contribute significantly to the team.
