NBA and hip-hop have been married for years. The exchange of dialogue and love between the stars from both sides of the aisle is a tale as old as the history of hip-hop. Since many of these stars share similar roots, they vibe with each other. LeBron James is also a huge rap fan and he never shies away from giving his regards to the best in the game. He consistently rolls out matter where he is jamming to the hip-hop hits. 

In another such instance, he gives props to an incredible rapper.

In another shout-out, the Forward was impressed with rapper Cam’Ron. He freestyled on the beat of the song “The Secret Recipe” by Lil Yachty & J Cole. LBJ wrote in his story, ”Killa Cooked That”. The musician takes on the rhythm of J Cole and forms a strong composition. The original post in the story redirects to the Insta post by Rapmarathon. The caption is, ”Did Cam’ron snap on this freestyle over Lil Yachty & J. Cole’s “The Secret Recipe” or nah?

He surely went all out on the mission and did what is expected out of an elite artist like him. As someone who has released seven albums and built a net worth of $ 6 million, he has been at the top of the game for three decades now. He is also an active voice in the NBA.

He co-hosts pod It is What It Is, where his childhood friend Mase alongside Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson. This pod consistently features NBA players and had Damian Lillard too just a few days before the Bucks trade. In fact, Cam’ron took credit for suggesting that Lillard team up with Giannis Antetokounmpo. His connection with hoops goes way back.

Cam’Ron’s connection with basketball

As a high schooler, both Cam’Ron and Mase wanted to be in the NBA. Both began as promising players and could have become special pro-talent. However, their poor grades halted their journey to the NCAA Division I which was a major platform in the 90s to get in the NBA. With their hoops dreams fizzled out, the two took to rap and got their breakthrough big names like B.I.G Notorious and Sean “Puff” Daddy. Since then, they have posted multiple hits and collaborated regularly.

LeBron James’ praise for Cam’Ron’s rapping skills is not surprising. That talent level isn’t even a surface of what he has achieved. While his pro hoops journey never took off, thanks to his bars, he still manages to be a prominent voice in NBA circles.
