Bryce James and Justin Pippen are shining in new roles for Sierra Canyon this season. Bryce James has come into the limelight for returning to his elder brother’s high school team. Over the past few months, the duo seems to have developed a good bond and this is evident in a video shared recently by Bryce. Right now, the Trail Blazers have won fourteen consecutive games. This season, Sierra Canyon has lost just once in 20 games, with their sole loss coming at the hands of Desert Mountain.
LeBron James’s second-born Bryce took to Instagram to share a re-posted video. It is a mixtape of Sierra Canyon’s remarkable season so far. In the video, the duo is seen having a warm bond and celebrating each other’s win in candid moments along with the other teammates. Junior wing Bryce James and senior guard Justin Pippen have helped the Trailblazers position themselves for a Southern Section Open Division berth.

Although, Bryce didn’t start the season with the Trail Blazers. He enrolled in Sherman Oaks Notre Dame’s basketball program last year. But, in late November (2023), it was reported that Bryce returned to Sierra Canyon. Bryce has been a part of Sierra Canyon’s basketball program since the 7th grade.
Last year, as a sophomore he played in just 12 games and averaged 3.8 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.4 assists across 12 games while playing alongside brother Bronny.

However, if carrying ‘James’ and ‘Pippen’ names wasn’t enough, having to perform in their father’s presence is added pressure these youngsters go through every other night. Their fathers who have been in their shoes before understand this and have often been spotted supporting them during games.

Justin Pippen and Bryce James are shining in their new roles at Sierra Canyon. Recently when the Blazers took on Varsity Boys Basketball, both LeBron James and Scottie Pippen were present near the courtside to watch their sons play. With a 19-1 record right now, Sierra Canyon has been near unstoppable and will add to the chance for Bryce and Justin to get more recognition.
Pippen, the unsigned 6-foot-3 guard, has been the catalyst for the Trailblazers, averaging 18.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per contest, and establishing himself as one of the most under-the-radar prospects in the Class of 2024 in the process. Pippen’s numbers are a vast improvement from last season when he played sparingly and averaged 4.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 24 games.
However, the three-star junior James has been a key cog off the bench and showed major improvement as well this season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

With all the star power and talented genes in Sierra Canyon, there is a lot of attention on whether Bryce James or Justin Pippen will perform better. Still, the duo is showing a lot of promise and hopes to make it to the big leagues.
