Although there is nothing concrete about the Thompson situation, the Dub Nation would wish this remains a rumor. Recently, Stephen Curry gave an insight into the Warriors’ environment. Talking about his franchise, he detailed what makes the Golden State so special.

The Golden State is arguably one of the strongest teams in the league. More importantly, they’re also a close-knit community and have managed to keep their team intact for years. The big three of the Warriors, Thompson, Curry, and Draymond Green have been with the team for the longest. So when the rumors around Thompson’s name started coming around, it was a shocker for fans. Especially with a season coming up in a matter of a few days.

Although there isn’t anything official on his exit at the moment, the latest word from Curry might help calm the fans down. The 4x NBA champion was recently asked about the environment within the camp. He gave a detailed answer while making arguments for the brilliance of his franchise.

Curry said that the team is so well functioning and the credit goes to everyone for striking the right balance. He also said that because so many of the players “bounce around the league”, their stories make him more appreciative of his club. The 35-year-old said that when other players share their stories of being in a bad organizational setup, he cannot relate to such things as he has been with the Warriors for so long.

It must be a good feeling for the management to hear such things from their biggest superstar.

Klay Thompson’s exit rumors

The main reason behind Thompson’s exit rumor is that his contract with the Warriors is expiring. He had signed a 5 year $190 million extension with the Warriors back in 2019. Going into this coming season, this will be the last outing for Thompson with his franchise as per his last contract. While there is very little possibility of that happening, it will be interesting to see how long it takes the Warriors to offer him another extension.
