Draymond Green has entered mandatory counseling sessions and is out for at least three to four weeks. This is a much-needed step that will help Green readjust his attitude and gain control over his combustible impulsiveness. Following a series of altercations, he has been ejected three times this season so far. Enter NBA legend and notorious trash-talker Reggie Miller, whose own history of heated confrontations has some, like comedian Kenny Brooks left wondering if Green might be taking inspiration from the Indiana Pacers‘ sharpshooter.
Kenny, who goes by the name “funny salesman” joins Jeff Teague and other guys on the ‘Club 520 podcast’ and talks about Draymond’s recent incident of punching Nurkic and other stories.

Back in the 1992/1993 season, Michael Jordan and Reggie got into combat and exchanged blows on each other during a game. The incident got him ejected, and he was penalized too. Given Reggie’s history of getting into brawls, Kenny Brooks playfully suggests that Draymond Green might have been “watching a lot of NBA fights” and attempted to emulate “one of those Reggie Millers.”
Uncle Reg was a fierce competitor, a lockdown defender, and a clutch performer–a complete package who would go head-on with anyone, whether it be Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant. Miller’s trash talk often served as a psychological weapon for disrupting the opponents and galvanizing his own team. Green’s recent physical altercations with opponents, like head-locking Rudy Gobert and swinging at Jusuf Nurkic, draw parallels to Reggie’s dominant nature.

The time Reggie messed with the Black Mamba
Reggie Miller once got into a fight with Kobe Bryant over an unwritten rule in 2002. The sentiment is if your team is already winning, most players agree to run out the clock and take a shot violation. This wasn’t the case with the Black Mamba, whose competitive spirit is still alive with fans. Kobe took a three-pointer even when his team was winning by 12 points. Reggie confronted Kobe and started trash-talking, and soon they both got into a physical confrontation. Reggie didn’t even regret it for a second.

Reggie’s lack of regret over his actions is one reason why Draymond is so relatable today. In his last two ejections, he got a flagrant foul for literally blowing at opponents. While Kenny made his remark in jest, it does highlight the similarities in the aggressiveness of these two big men in the league.
