Bad News For LeBron James As 16YO Son Bryce Set to Serve a Long Sit-out Period at Notre Dame

Bryce James, the youngest son of the superstar forward of the Los Angeles Lakers, is again in the headlines. This time, the news is not as positive as it was when he visited Ohio State back in early October. The issue is that the Sherman Oaks Dame High basketball game won’t see Bryce for a while.

Along with his father LeBron James, Bryce is also setting record highs in his career. With the NIL valuation of $1.2 million, he is all set to improve his chances in the formal NBA league, especially with his recent move to Notre Dame. However, things don’t look up for him in the near future.

Bryce’s turbulent start at Notre Dame

There had been speculations for some time that Bryce would leave Sierra Canyon. After considering Campbell Hall in Studio City, California, Bryce decided to join Notre Dame. Following in the footsteps of the elder brother, Bryce will be a junior on the team. However, to be eligible to play according to CIF rules, he has to move residences.

So he’ll be a sit-out athlete who would become eligible to play on December 24. With Campbell Hall coach David Grace on his side, the blow might soften a bit. Bryce, a contemporary of rapper Master P’s son, shares a bond with Notre Dame’s guard Angelino Mark.

The decision to shift from Sierra Canyon to Sherman Oaks, Notre Dame, would boost Bryce’s NIL value. After a present valuation of $1.2 million, the shooting guard is just making waves because of LeBron’s family legacy. Already on the banner with the tag of an elite four-star 2025 recruit, the future seems bright for the kid. However, it would still be Bronny who would earn the honor first of playing with his father, LeBron, on the same court.

He is the first player to score 35+ points in his 21st season and his 81st 30+ point game since turning 35. Although there are many more records to break and moments to cherish, the most anticipated one is pairing up with his son. The aging ankles will stay in the game long enough to play a game with his eldest son, Bronny James, and create yet another milestone in NBA history.

No doubt, LeBron still holds the ground for being the best player in terms of on-court commitment and performance output.
