If you’ve been online lately, one of the hottest topics is the perceived generation gap between millennials and Gen Z. The latter is often seen as the trendier and more up-to-date group. The newer generation loves to poke fun at the “30-somethings” for clinging to outdated trends, with boomerangs, a relic of the social media past, and a quintessential millennial quirk, being a prime target. However, Ayesha Curry has a perfect response to silence all that criticism.
During the promotion of their newly released Netflix flick, Irish Wish, Ayesha Curry, and Lindsay Lohan recently played The Confessions of a Millennial Drama Queen. The game is exactly as the name suggests; it’s a quiz to see how well they identify with millennial behaviors. And, as you might have guessed, the topic of boomerangs inevitably came up during the quiz. While LiLo might not be a fan of the trend, Curry, on the other hand, can’t stop using the feature.
If you’ve been following her on social media, you are no stranger to her love for boomerangs, as she is often seen posting one with her husband, Stephen Curry. So, when somebody tried to shame her for it, she gave a befitting reply. “Somebody told me the other day that I was old because I was using boomerangs still. They were like, ‘That’s not cool anymore.’ And I was like, ‘Well I wasn’t trying to be cool’ I just like it,” recalled the cookbook author.

However, while Lohan and Curry might not agree on this one trend, they connect perfectly when it comes to things that matter. “Like spirituality, life, family, friendships. We just aligned on a bunch of stuff,” Ayesha told TODAY when asked how they bonded. And this was way before they became costars in their new movie.
How did Ayesha Curry and Lindsay Lohan meet?
In the new issue of People, the Irish Wish actresses revealed that it was their mutual friend, chef Michael Mina, who set them up to meet. Despite initial reluctance, they finally met in Dubai at the restaurant Mina in 2022. And what was intended as a quick hour-long dinner turned into an unforgettable evening that stretched into the night.

“We were talking for hours. We were like, ‘What time is it?’ I left it, I was like, ‘Oh my God, that was so fun. I love this woman,'” said Lohan of their first meeting. Safe to say that the feeling was mutual. “It was just wild meeting somebody that I got along with so well, and we had so many common interests right away, so it was cool,” stated Curry. Their friendship then deepened into something more familial, with Lohan asking Curry to be the godmother of her son Luai, welcomed last summer.
