The fandom watched as the franchise’ surreal experiment to team up Kyrie Irving with Kevin Durant and James Harden burned down in flames last season. Injuries, disgruntlement and trade requests further dented the Nets. However, it may have also brought a ray of hope to the franchise with its downfall.

A former NBA executive talked about this very basketball star while berating the Irving-Durant-Harden conundrum.

Kyrie Irving marked the beginning and the end to the Nets’ disastrous experiment. While he shocked the world with his decision to join the Brookyn-based franchise, he left to join Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in similar fashion. However, the trade that sent Irving to Dallas also brought in a pivotal piece in the Nets’ rebuild in Spencer Dinwiddie. Now, the 30-year-old is set to earn a whopping $128M contract with the Nets.

Former NBA executive, Amin Elhassan discussed the significant contract the Nets would offer Dinwiddie on his show, Oddball. However, he showed no mercy to Kyrie Irving and the Nets’ Big Three.

“Spence, this is awesome man. The Nets, they’re kind of trying to rebuild from the ashes of what came before with the Kyrie, Kevin Durant, Harden experiment failing miserably. Now you’re coming in and the best time to come in, for a situation when it is ashes. Anything you do looks great,” he said, while bashing the Irving-Durant-Harden conundrum.

He added, “You got a nice young nucleus of teammates, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson…I think you can take the reins here as the vet and push this team forward…”
