The NBA has seen some of the biggest names in the sport of basketball over the years. With a huge number of great players who have played in the league, it is a tedious task to pick out just five out of them. However, some names like LeBron James and Michael Jordan are usually a constant. As Team United States of America prepares for their first game of the 2023 FIBA World Cup on the 26th of August against New Zealand, Anthony Edwards took some time off to answer a controversial question.
He was asked to name his top 5 players and interestingly enough, the Minnesota Timberwolves youngster left out some huge names which will disappoint some fans.

38-year-old LeBron James has four NBA titles, multiple regular and finals MVP awards to his name alongside many other accolades. For this reason, he is one of the most popular players who is featured on Top 5 lists around the world.
However, it looks like Edwards thinks differently. When asked to name 5 players, the former All-Star left out some well known names like James and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.
Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant made the 2020-21 All Rookie’s Top 5 list. Despite the snub, Edwards has been supportive of James in the past.

Back in 2021, King James and the Los Angeles Lakers crashed out of the Western Conference Playoffs in the first round. A huge number of fans across social media platforms rejoiced, but Edwards was not happy with this. Taking to Instagram, the youngster posted a powerful message for the Lakers billionaire.
“I’ve never seen so many people be so happy to see an athlete fail more than LeBron. His whole career he’s been hated on constantly and slandered to no end to the point where when he retires nobody would have appreciated his greatness. I will be glad I will be one who did,” wrote Edwards according to Fadeawayworld.
Edwards had previously snubbed Michael Jordan
It looks like Anthony Edwards isn’t scared of internet trolls as he fearlessly speaks his mind. Last year, he snubbed Jordan out of his top 5 list the same way he did for LeBron!

Allen Iverson, Durant and Shaq were on his previous list alongside James. Interestingly, he saved the final spot on the list for himself! Considering he is just 22 years old and has a long way to go, it won’t be a surprise if he ends up on top 5 lists in the future.
