Anthony Davis is in his best form tonight. And rightly so. With tonight’s outcome deciding their spot in the Vegas semi-finals, the Lakers will have to put their best foot forward. But Davis has another aspect to be happy about. The 6’10 power forward has another feather in the cap.

The LA team has advanced to the semi-finals in Las Vegas, defeating Phoenix at 106-103. It has been quite the adrenaline spike match and both the teams gave as good as they got. So, back to Davis.

Surpassing the Lakers legend and a 3x NBA champion, James Worthy, AD reached 16,321 points in his career in the third quarter. Worthy has 16,320 points on the All-Time list. That puts Davis in the 109th position now.

An impressive feat, considering his history of missing games. Tonight, AD scored 27 points and 15 rebounds in 39 minutes of game time. Davis has 17 double-doubles this season, so this is another one to the list. While he passed Worthy by scoring 16,321 points in the third quarter, the total number of points came to 16,325.

Anyway, the purple and gold are on their way to Vegas to face Williamson-Ingram-led Pelicans. This season has been a game-changer in every sense of the word. Teams that many thought were sure to win were outscored at the last moment. So, what will happen in the in-season Semi-Finals is a mystery waiting to be unlocked.

Phoenix vs Lakers

One of the major incentives for plowing through the latest addition to the NBA, and the inaugural In-Season Tournament, is the prize money. And that’s not just for the players, but the entire crew that has been working with them. So, it’s truly a motivational factor. Not to mention, the younger players also get a chance to make some extra cash on the side.

With this in mind, two of the most formidable teams were off faster than you could blink. Pretty much every player was locked in with just one goal in mind – win! LeBron James scored 31 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds, while Reaves came next with 20 points. Of course, Davis is in between these two with his double-double.

KD was also on par with James as he landed 31 points of his own for the Suns. But he missed a three-point buzzer shot that could have made all the difference. With Beal out due to his recurring back injury, Booker and Allen contributed 21 points each for the Suns.

Phoenix was always right behind, often trailing by 2 or 3 points. But ultimately, they had to admit defeat in what was an exhilarating battle.
