But what is more concerning is his future with the Los Angeles Lakers after his elder son Bronny underwent a cardiac arrest. Was AD’s deal a way to keep LeBron James around?
LeBron James still has one year left in his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. And it is going to be a few more years that Bronny would announce for the NBA draft and make it to the league.

James’s desire to play with his son means that he would consider leaving the Lakers to join the team that drafts his son. But after his son’s cardiac arrest, there has been uncertainty surrounding his basketball career regarding if and when he will be able to play again.

So, the Los Angeles Lakers front office did not prefer taking any chances and decided to sign Davis to a huge 3-year/$186 million extension. Now, not only will the team have one of their star players for the foreseeable future but also it may be able to lure James into staying.
Which team will LBJ end his career with?
Anthony Davis and LeBron James are represented by the Klutch Sports Group. So, according to Lakersdaily.com, the assumption is that if or when James does decide to leave the Lakers, Davis may be able to talk him into staying.

As per an unknown executive quoted by the website, “You sign AD to this deal, there is the Klutch connection there, and LeBron has a certain level of responsibility for what Davis does with the Lakers.”
He also went on to add, “If LeBron was going to leave, that would change the conversation. Now, AD can change his mind if LeBron leaves the Lakers down the road and ask for a trade.”
