The Golden State Warriors extended their losing streak to six games with the loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder in tonight?s game. This is the second straight game Stephen Curry and Co. have lost to the Thunder, but tonight was a closer game than the last one. Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins played his best game of this season, scoring a season-high 31 points upon Steph?s return from injury. He also hit a clutch three-pointer to take a 3-point lead with less than 2 seconds remaining in the game.
Unfortunately, OKC?s 7?2 rookie Chet Holmgren ruined Wiggins? magical performance by hitting a game-tying buzzer-beater to send the game to overtime. Wiggins later justified letting the 21-year-old rookie hit his insane shot with just 2-words.

Andrew Wiggins addresses guarding Chet Holmgren on buzzer-beater
With their team trailing by 3 points, OKC gave the ball in Chet Holmgren?s hands with 1.6 seconds remaining on the clock. Holmgren hit an incredible turn-around three-pointer to tie the game, silencing the fans in the Chase Center. Warriors Forward Andrew Wiggins, who was guarding Chet on that play, had this to say about letting the shot go in, ?I tried. He?s tall.?
?I felt like he was about to turn and shoot so either he gonna shoot it or three free throws so I just tried to put hands up.?

Wiggins did his best to contest Holmgren?s game-tying shot, but the 6?7 forward was just too short to guard the 7?2 rookie. Ironically, Chet Holmgren hit the shot over Andrew Wiggins, as just a few seconds before that shot, Wiggins had gotten his team the lead with a clutch three-pointer of his own.

The Golden State Warriors need the old Andrew Wiggins to win
Andrew Wiggins played great in tonight?s game. He led the Warriors in scoring with a season-high 31 points. But Wiggins? performance this season has been very inconsistent. The 6’7 forward is averaging only 10.5 points and 4.2 assists this season, which is the lowest-scoring average of his career. Stephen Curry and Co. need Wiggins to play like he did tonight on a more consistent basis. He has been a crucial part of the Warriors roster for a few years, and they will not be able to find much success without his help.

Wiggins needs to get back to his 2022 form, when he helped Stephen Curry win his 4th Championship. He was the second-best player for the Warriors in that year?s NBA Finals, averaging 18.3 points and 8.8 rebounds. The Warriors are struggling to stay afloat after Steph?s injury and Draymond?s suspension. And they need players like Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson to step up their game and get them back into the winning column.
