The Chicago Bulls were the most dominant franchise in the 90s. Michael Jordan led them to 6 Championships in the 90s, including two three-peats, making them one of the most storied franchises in NBA history. But the Bulls have struggled to find any significant success after the Jordan era. They have not been able to come anywhere close to winning a championship in the 21st century. Even today, the Bulls have several star players on their roster, including Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic. But the best they have achieved together is to reach the first round of the playoffs.

Chicago might be looking for a rebuild, and their biggest asset, Zach LaVine, has been in the trade rumors all summer. Amid the Bulls? struggles, LaVine?s 22-year-old teammate is also seeking ?Big, Big Numbers? from the $4.09 billion franchise.

Zach LaVine re-signed with the Chicago Bulls on a 5-year $215 million max contract last summer. But the superstar was unable to lead the Bulls into the playoffs. So, the Bulls are actively looking to trade the 2-time All-Star for a suitable exchange offer. Amid LaVine?s trade rumors, his 22-year-old teammate Patrick Williams is adding to the Bulls’ problems.

Williams is entering the final year of his rookie deal, and according to veteran analyst Zach Lowe, ?I’m hearing Patrick Williams wants big, big numbers for his next contract… like, starts with a 2 and isn’t $20M.?

Williams believes he deserves a huge paycheck moving ahead with the Bulls. The Forward was the Number 4 pick in the 2020 draft and has shown decent growth in his early career.

Williams averaged 10.2 points and 4 rebounds last season while playing all 82 games for the Bulls. If the Bulls are heading towards an inevitable rebuild, they might have to consider Williams? high demands.

Chicago needs young players with high potential to take over the team in case Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan decide to part ways with them.

Is this the end of the current Chicago Bulls roster?

Zach LaVine has been in Chicago for the past 6 years. He has been the primary scorer for the team in that time, averaging 24.5 points throughout his Bulls tenure. But it seems unlikely that Zach will be able to lead them to a Championship anytime soon. The Bulls have never made it past the first round of the playoffs in LaVine?s presence. Their other star, DeMar DeRozan, might also enter free agency after the end of this season.

The Bulls know they cannot win a Championship with their current roster. They will look to maximize their superstars? trade value as they are all in their prime, and other teams will pay a good price for players like LaVine and DeRozan. The Bulls’ rebuild seems inevitable.
