Joel Embiid is one of the best Centers in the NBA. Embiid won his first MVP award last season after he averaged a career-high 33.1 points. The Philadelphia 76ers want to maximize Joel?s potential by winning their first NBA Championship. But despite the Center being in his prime, the 76ers are far from winning a title. They are more invested in the James Harden trade drama, which has haunted them throughout the summer. Due to the Sixers? lack of focus and uncertain future, there have been rumors about Joel Embiid looking to get out of Philadelphia.

The New York Knicks are reportedly on the reigning MVP?s radar. But a former Knicks writer drew parallels between a Knicks legend and Embiid, claiming even if Embiid leaves Philly to play in New York, he will not be able to fulfill their Championship dreams.

Former Knicks writer Chris Broussard revealed Embiid?s desire to join the Knicks, ?There’s scuttlebutt in some quarters of the league that Embiid wants to go to New York.? Chris believes the reigning MVP has not made his desire public, fearing the backlash from Philadelphia fans. But Embiid may be looking for a change in environment after the drama-filled tenure he has had in Philadelphia.

Even though Embiid?s desire to join the Knicks is just a rumor, Broussard claimed that the Center will not be able to win a Championship in New York, ?I hate to say it, Embiid wouldn’t lead em to a championship.? Broussard further drew parallels between Embiid and Knicks legend Patrick Ewing, ?They?d be good, they?d be like they were with Ewing.? Patrick Ewing was the Greatest player in Knicks franchise history, and he led them to two NBA finals. But the Knicks were never able to lift the Larry O?Brien trophy under his leadership.
