Damian Lillard only wants to be a part of the Miami Heat in the upcoming season. This has put his 11-year partner Trail Blazers in jeopardy. Since he is one of the best three-point shooters in history, his value is immense in the current market. Many NBA greats have lauded Dame’s game. He has earned his reputation as someone who can demand a trade. Despite not having the playoff success of Stephen Curry, he is compared to him because of the range.
One former legend also invokes the comparison.

Many NBA legends love talking about the current game and are deeply linked with it. These great athletes usually complement players from the current generation.
2008 NBA champion Kevin Garnett also heaps praise on current ballers. He knows a sharpshooter when he sees one considering he has played with Ray Allen, still, number two in career three-pointers made.
The Big Ticket shared a story of a reel that is from this year’s All-Star game. Complimenting a Lillard shot from beyond the half-court, the former Wolves legend with a $125 million net worth writes, “Dame the only one that can see Steph on that RANGE”.

In this clip, Damian receives the ball from Team Giannis’ teammate Jayson Tatum and casually launches a three from beyond the half-court. His upper form remains uncompromised, and he hits the triple without any hitch. This effortless three-point shot led Garnett to compare Damian and Stephen Curry. Curry is currently the all-time leading three-point maker by a long distance.
Fans know the Golden State Warriors Guard for his deep threes. One of his memorable moments is hitting a game-winner against the Thunder from around 40 feet. This was his twelfth triple of that game, and this game-winner in 2016 fittingly tied him with Kobe for most threes in a game.
He broke the record in 2016 and his teammate Klay Thompson broke Steph’s own record in 2018. Interestingly, this year Lillard also broke Kobe’s record in February on the way to 71 points against the Rockets, nailing 13 three-pointers.
The Guard is closing in on another legend in terms of total threes throughout the career.

Apart from breaking Bryant’s record in a single game, the Guard is on the heels of going past Reggie Miller’s 2560 total career threes. He currently has 2387 and if he nails 174 threes next season, he will go past him. Last season, D.A.M.E DOLLA made 244, making more than four a game. If he plays for around 40 games next season, he can take over Reggie.

And he’d love to shatter the record in a Heat jersey. The Heat will love it too considering they lacked consistent deep shooting last season.
