The James Harden trade saga has escalated out of proportion. After all the off-court drama, it is still unclear which team The Beard will suit up for next season. But after his comments about Sixers President Daryl Morey, it seems unlikely that he will return to Philadelphia.
James Harden, however, seems unbothered by the drama surrounding him and is currently in Houston for a different reason.

Harden is currently in Houston for the 6th Annual JH-Town Charity Weekend, where he will focus on giving back to the community. He left the Houston Rockets in the middle of the 2020-21 season when he got traded to the Brooklyn Nets. Harden spent nine seasons playing for the Rockets and played the best basketball of his career with the team. He was named an all-star every year that he played in Houston and won his first MVP award in 2018. Harden continues to share a special connection with Houston.
“This weekend is about giving back to the city of Houston,” Harden said in an interview with KHOU 11. The event includes a Celebrity Softball Game, which has seen several NBA and Pop stars in the previous renditions. NBA players and celebrities like Chris Paul, PJ Tucker, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage have all been a part of the JH-Town Celebrity Softball game in the past. This year will be no different as it promises to be a star-studded event.

Apart from the softball game, Harden will give out 500 backpacks at Yates High School, and award 13 academic scholarships. The foundation will also provide meals to 360,000 food-insecure families.

James Harden and the 76ers have had a chaotic couple of weeks after Harden called Daryl Morey a liar for ending trade discussions with the Clippers. In a recent turn of events, the NBA has launched an inquiry around Harden’s public admonishment of the Sixers President. Harden’s comments in China will be looked into, for illegal negotiation tactics with the Sixers.
Meanwhile, Harden is more focused on his off-court endeavors and staying in shape for the regular season. He launched J Harden Wines in China a few days back and sold out 16,000 bottles in minutes. The JH town weekend is also being conducted, in partnership with J Harden Wines and Alife Hospitality Group.
