Simmons had a below-average last season. He underperformed in several aspects of the game, most importantly in scoring. The 27-year-old has a career average of 14.7 points per game. Additionally, he also maintains 7.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. However, his performance last year saw a critical drop.
Simmons could only manage an average of 6.9 points per game. With a star player severely underperforming, the Nets couldn’t get past the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs. Heading into another year, the Nets look better prepared.

Additionally, his impressive showcase made the fans believe they are in for a “redemption” season from the youngster. We will find out about that in due time.
