The Bucks were two points short with five seconds left in the clock. And it was Damian Lillard, who turned the game around. He dribbled the ball into the game, and shot a buzzer-beating three-pointer from the logo, leaving his teammates in disbelief. Following that, Lillard pulled off his signature celebration and marked his first game-winning buzzer-beater bucket for the Bucks family.
Moments after the game, Lillard took up questions from the press. One reporter asked about Greek Freak’s reaction to the bucket. He said, “He started tapping his wrist when he started running towards me and he almost choked me out”. Then he went on to quote Giannis’ words. Lillard added, “He [Giannis] was like, I have never seen a tough shot like that”.
Lillard further quoted Giannis’ words on the bucket, saying, “Running full speed, you kinda sidestepped, fade from deep”. Dame later stressed that he worked on these moves in his practice sessions.
