Stephen Curry got the final say in the Best Point Guard debate between him and Hall of Famer Magic Johnson. Curry claimed to be the “Best Point Guar Ever” earlier this summer, putting him over the Lakers legend. However, Michael Jordan and Magic seemed to disagree with the 4-time Champion. His Airness made a case for Magic being the Greatest Point Guard through a detailed text sent to analyst Stephen A. Smith. Magic Johnson also defended his position by pointing out his career accomplishments. Steph responded to MJ and Magic’s comments, putting an end to the debate for now.

After Curry’s response, Stephen A. Smith stirred the pot once again after he added 7-time All-Star Damian Lillard to the conversation.

Stephen Curry addressed Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson’s comments in an interview with Whitney Sandretto from 95.7 The Game. He put a full stop to the two legends’ arguments with his comments, “It’s also the unsolvable debate. That is why everybody asks those questions and why everybody loves to talk about it. It’s cos I can say I’m the best and Magic can defend his position, and any other point guard can chime in.” Curry believes the question has no right answer, and it will always stay up for debate.

After Curry’s comments, Stephen A. Smith threw Damian Lillard’s name into the mix while discussing his recent trade to the Milwaukee Bucks. Stephen A. was a guest on The Breakfast Club Podcast and rated Lillard’s move to Milwaukee, “I think if it were not for Steph Curry, we’d be talking about him as the best in the game at that position.”

Does Damian Lillard belong in the Best Point Guard Conversation?

Damian Lillard is a future Hall of Famer. In his 11-year career, Dame has given several historic moments to the NBA world. He is a 7-time All-Star and was part of the NBA’s Top 75 team. Lillard is one of the most clutch shooters in the league, and he is probably the only player that can match the shooting ability of Chef Curry. The only accolade missing from Lillard’s resume is an NBA Championship.

Damian Lillard has been unlucky in the playoffs despite his individual greatness. Stephen A. might be right about Lillard in terms of skill and individual impact, but Dame cannot be considered in the Best PG debate unless he has the hardware to back the claim. However, that might change in the coming years.
