The former NBA star was in the championship team of the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021. On a recent podcast appearance, he left the fans amused as he shared stories from his playing days; highlighting the impact of rising stars from Sacramento and Cleveland in his retirement.

Jeffrey Demarco Teague played professional basketball for 12 years with 5 NBA teams, including seven seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. After retiring in 2021, he has worked as a regional scout for the Hawks. Teague played college basketball at Wake Forest University and was selected 19th overall in the 2009 NBA draft. He was an NBA All-Star in 2015 and won an NBA championship in 2021 with the Milwaukee Bucks. But his post-playing career has been nothing short of captivating, especially for those who have tuned in to his podcast and show appearances.

On the Club 520 Podcast, Teague shared his experience with young guards De’Aaron Fox and Darius Garland. His story took a funny turn, though, when he joked about how these young talents were the reason for his “retirement.” Teague began his amusing confession by jokingly blaming De’Aaron Fox for his choice to accept a bench role. He recalled a game in which Fox’s lightning-quick speed caught him off guard.

Teague said, “He was running so fast one game, he just kept running at me … my knees still suffering from those change of directions. He was running so fast I’m like, ‘What did I do to him?'”?After Fox, he started to talk about his experience with Garland. He said it was Garland who effectively “sent him into retirement.”

Then he recalled an incident with the King’s star. He said, “But I remember I dunked on [Fox] … but after that, he tried to kill me,” demonstrating the competitiveness of the young blood.
