The Starry 3-Point Contest was held on Saturday at the Lucas Oil Stadium, where Damian Lillard showed his dominance once again. He won the competition two times in a row this year by dropping 26 points, rising above other finalists like Karl-Anthony Towns and Trae Young. The 8X NBA All-Star not only successfully defended his title, but he did so in style. During the competition, Dame was sporting his signature Adidas Dame 8 EXTPLY shoes, an alluring pink and black colorway.

Now, Dame-Time is gearing up for the next major event. Although he has been an All-Star in previous years, the 2024 Game is the most significant because it will be his first time starting an All-Star Game. With hours away from tip-off, Dame took to Instagram to give fans a sneak peek at the latest edition of his signature shoes, the Dame 9.

Dame uploaded the first look of the stunning Dame 9’s with a red and black color scheme featuring Damian’s logo on the tongue in a striking neon color. An excited Dame shared this clip with the caption, “first look at my upcoming #Dame9 signature shoe with @adidasbasketball.” Except for this clip and a debut image that Adidas shared, they have not yet disclosed any campaign photos, official launch dates, or technical specifications. However, we can see nine dots at the heels, that are meant to symbolize the ‘9th edition’ of the shoes.

So, not much is known about the kicks but we can expect Adidas to incorporate their latest Jet Boost tech in the outsoles, which has been used in all of their newest shoes. Through the launch of these shoes, Dame becomes one of the few NBA stars to produce at least nine signature shoes for a single brand.

The Milwaukee Bucks superstar signed with the multi-billion dollar company in 2012, as a rookie with the Trail Blazers. Three years later in 2015, Adidas released Dame’s first signature shoes, the D Lillard 1. Last month, Adidas surprised Dame by inviting him to their ‘Adidas Village’ headquarters in Portland and announcing that they officially named the basketball gym floor after him. They named it ‘The Damian Lillard Court.’

At the unveiling, the brand’s Director of Sports Marketing Chris McGuire said, “There’s never been a more loyal athlete or partner for the brand. That’s what makes this moment so special.” We can expect the Dame 9’s to be released this year by summer.
