The entire world got a new social media website to spend their time on apart from Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg launched a new app that has taken the world by storm. Many celebs and NBA A-listers have already showed up on the new social media. However, NBA star LeBron James is seemingly staying loyal to Elon Musk and his $41.09 Billion venture.

The Twitter rival, Threads has seen a huge surge in new users signing up. And according to reports, the new social media app already has 100 million users signed up and counting. So, will The King switch sides too?

The need for an app to rival Twitter emerged when Elon Musk instilled a daily limit on the number of tweets a user can read or view. This newly implemented rule saw a lot of backlash from fans.

Even though this rule was temporary, Sacramento Kings? star point guard De?Aaron Fox was quick to label it as stupid. Many NBA players including Steph Curry soon jumped ship.

However, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James may just remain loyal to Elon Musk?s Twitter. After the Tesla CEO took over, he started charging users for the verified blue tick as a $6 fee for a month.

But many celebrities and athletes refused to pay for it. One of them being LeBron James. Musk later revealed that he is personally paying for the blue tick for some of the athletes as well as celebrities, and James was one of them.

So, it looks like James had chosen to remain loyal to Musk?s $41.09 billion venture with just a $6 gesture from the billionaire business mogul.

Will Threads become the new Twitter?

The newly launched Threads have captured the attention of millions of users, leading to a huge surge of users signing up. And this will only continue to grow as users get attracted to a new platform in the market.

And even if Elon Musk removes the temporarily implemented rule of viewing limited tweets, it seems users will continue to flock the new site. Now, the only question is, how long will it take Threads to become the new Twitter?
