The most entertaining and demanding weekend of the NBA is upon us. Anticipation is developing rapidly. Fans are preparing to watch the various events during the weekend. The NBA All-Star will be hosted by the city of Indiana. While the All-Star game, crammed with the NBA’s very best is the highlight event, some pre-events will precede the West vs East battle.
To begin the weekend, we will have the annual Celebrity game, coached by debate rivals Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe. Following that will be the exciting Rising Star Games. The new-gen stars of the NBA will battle it out in a three-game mini-tournament.
The knockout competition features some of the brightest young stars in the NBA and the NBA’s G-League. Here are all the details you will need regarding the event.

When will the NBA Rising Star Games be held?
The NBA All-Star Rising Star Games will be held on the first day of the weekend. It will kick off after the Celebrity game, which begins from 7 p.m. ET. The war of the young studs of the NBA will be held on Friday, 16th February in Indiana. It will be held at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the same arena that will host the NBA All-Star game on Sunday.
Who are the coaches for the NBA Rising Star Games?
There will be some familiar faces and some city favorites. For this year, the NBA has an assortment of Indiana basketball legends. Then there is one man who is returning from last year to defend his Rising Stars title. A Los Angeles Lakers legend and a Hall of Famer, Pau Gasol will return on the weekend after winning the challenge last season.
The remaining three coaches all hold significance to the Indiana organizations in the NBA and the WNBA. An instrumental part of the 2000 Pacers side that made it to the NBA Finals, Jalen Rose will be one of the coaches. He played for the Indiana Pacers for six seasons.

Tamika Catchings is the second Hall of Famer on the podium. She led the Indiana Fever to a WNBA championship in 2012 and is considered a legend of the franchise. She spent all of her 15 seasons with the Fever and won MVP in 2011. Catchings also made 10 All-Star teams and seven All-WNBA first teams.

Lastly, is former Pacers guard Detlef Schrempf. He played for the organization for four seasons. Schrempf won back to back Sixth Man of The Year honors in 1992 and 1993 and was also a three NBA All-Star. He will be coaching the NBA G-League team.
What are the rosters?
Continuing the tradition from last season, a Rising Star draft was held between the three coaches. Gasol, last years winner won the first overall pick and chose this year’s number one pick and a freakish athlete – Victor Wembanyama. Other players like Paolo Banchero, who is an All-Star this season and Chet Holmgren are also part of the competition.

What are the rules of the competiton?
The Rising Stars Games will be a three-game tournament with the winner decided through a target score. The first semi-finals will be played between Team Jalen and Team Tamika and the second semi-final will be played between Team Pau and Team Schrempf. The target score for this round will be 40.
Both the winners of the semi-finals will face off in the Finals where the target score is set for 25.
