The Philadelphia 76ers have had a catastrophe during the 2023 NBA offseason. It all began when James Harden publicly hinted at his wish trade out of the franchise in the initial phase of off season. Moreover, he continued to face troubles in the form of fines and media backlashes for actions. On the hind side, it definitely impacted the Philly fandom, and its hopes on the team. On top of it, a former NBA Champion dropped a hammer on the franchise and predicted a massive failure in the upcoming season.

Ex NBA Champion drops hammer on Sixers amid James Harden situation

As the season opener is right around the corner, predictions galore began in the NBA world. In the lineup, former NBA Champ, Richard Jefferson ripped apart the Sixers’ in a recent podcast. Sitting alongside former Cleveland Cavaliers player Channing Fyre, Jefferson went all guns blazing in the latest episode of Road Trippin’.

When the host asked the former players to pick a team that would miss the playoff spot as a guarantee and Jefferson lunged forward without a second thought, pointing his finger at the Sixers. Following that, he pointed out the reasons behind his harsh claim. Notably, the team currently has reigning MVP award winner and in-form Tyrese Maxey in their roster. Despite the advantages, the 43-year-old predicted that the Sixers would fail.

While the James Harden situation seemed like the bigger issue with the 76ers, Jefferson pointed few other trade issues.

What’re the other trade issues?

Jefferson considered the Philly’s trade move to pick Tobais Harris over Jimmy Butler in 2020 as a “Stupid” move. He reasoned that Butler has reached two NBA Finals since the Sixers made that deal. Moreover, he also pointed out the Ben Simmons situation and said it wasn’t handled properly. He also added, “You’re just wasting Joel Embiid’s time.”

Following that, he stressed that the management hasn’t been treating Joel Embiid properly for the talent he brings to the table.
