About F1 eSports

With no real sporting events taking place, people have to rely on other means for entertainment. This is where eSports comes into the mix and helps people during times of boredom. In the case of F1 eSports, it helps drivers hone their skills.

Another massive boon is that drivers can use simulator video games to test out new tracks. For example, had the 2020 F1 season carried on as normal, drivers could have used simulators to test the Vietnam and Dutch circuits.

Normally, these gamers race on the latest edition of the F1 game. In this case, it is F1 2019, until F1 2020 releases later this year.

F1 teams

Formula One had actually set up eSports teams and the real racing teams tied up with them. Sometimes, some gamers would be inducted as the official team simulator driver.

F1 begin the eSports series back in 2017 and it has been going strong ever since. The 10 teams are, Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Esports, Ferrari Driver Academy, Haas F1 Team Esports, McLaren Shadow, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports, Red Bull Racing Esports, Renault Sport Team Vitality, Scuderia Toro Rosso Esports, SportPesa Racing Point F1 Esports Team and Williams Esports
