Jon Jones’s greatness is nothing to scoff at, but Fury did not appear much of a fan a few months back. The boxer claimed that he is the, ‘Baddest man on the planet.’ However, Jones begged to differ and did not shy away from making it evident. Subsequently, Fury clapped back at him and called him out for a bout in the ring. Meanwhile, Jones was adamant and turned the challenge back at Fury, offering him an MMA fight.

Although their clash did not come to fruition, they have not stopped talking about one another. In an interview, Tyson was weighing in on his training partner and UFC heavyweight prospect, Tom Aspinall. He was asked if he could become a champion by defeating Jones. In response, Fury initiated his answer by lauding Jones for his achievements and even gave him an intriguing tag.

He stated, “Jon Jones is Tyson Fury of Boxing. People are unable to beat him. Very very tough one, even though Tom Aspinal is my man, Jon Jones is considered one of the greatest of all time in MMA.”

It is safe to say that despite the back and forth, Fury still holds Jones in great regard. However, at the same time, he does not think the UFC great is unbeatable and thinks Aspinall can beat him.

Can Tom Aspinall beat Jon Jones?

According to Fury, Tom Aspinall is a promising prospect and the only one who can defeat Jones. Aspinall happens to be British and a dear friend of Tyson. Not to mention, the two are also training partners despite competing in distinct sports. His current record stands at 13 wins with only three defeats.

He is a well-rounded fighter who can fight on his feet and on the ground. Aspinall has also showcased impressive takedown defense. He has been on a great run recently and is coming off a stunning victory against Marcin Tybura. Reflecting on his skillsets, Fury stated in the same interview, “If anyone can beat Jon Jones it’ll be Tom Aspinall. Sure, nobody else.”
