Many big names in combat sports found time to make it to the PFL vs. Bellator event. Alongside Mike Tyson and Francis Ngannou, even the UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones took a trip to Riyadh to attend the remarkable PFL event. He knew he had to make an appearance at the event, especially after he’d taken a break from fighting because of a tendon tear in his shoulder.
Once he makes a comeback, Jon Jones might step inside the octagon against the British interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinal. As of now, he’s spending his time, having fun in Saudi Arabia. During his time there, he didn’t hide away from hanging out with his idol and inspiration Mike Tyson. He even reacted to their picture together posted by Tyson on social media.

There have been several occasions where Jones and Tyson have bumped into each other. Back in 2014, when Jones was preparing for his fight against Daniel Cormier, Tyson exchanged playful strikes with Jones, then up-and-coming champion known for his unorthodox but effective fighting style. Their laughter echoed through the air as they danced around, showcasing their skills while maintaining a friendly atmosphere.

It’s been a decade since that incident, and the camaraderie between the two remains intact. Mike Tyson posted the picture of him and Jones on Instagram with the caption, “Me and [Jon Jones] at the [PFL] fight in Riyadh.” Well, the conversation didn’t stop there as Jon Jones extended his admiration as he dropped a comment on the post. Jones wrote, “I’m always honored to be in your presence Mike.”
On the other hand, Jones’s GOAT status in MMA remains a lopsided topic, as his contest with Francis Ngannou is the only way to settle this debate. And at the PFL vs. Bellator event, they had a verbal clash with each other.
