Seven years in the wake of the Greatest of all Time Fighter, Muhammad Ali, his daughter has extended his legacy of social work. In a world that seeks desperate help, Laila Ali has stepped up to be the beacon of hope. The former boxing champion has on multiple counts been vocal about celebrities taking the lead in bringing change to mitigate the struggles of communities on the margin.
She has perpetually channeled the belief systems of her father in her social work. Ali once said, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth”. His daughter has now personified his views. Her affinity to make sports more accessible for female athletes has nudged her into another avenue of work.

The former super middleweight champion has on different occasions furthered her concern for women in sports. She has been vocal about making sports as accessible as possible. Recently, she also joined hands with the Women’s Sports Foundation in their pursuit of making sports a conducive environment for female athletes. Joining her were American Footballers Jalen Hurts, former soccer player Carli Lloyd, Star Wright, and also the Philadelphia Eagles for Operation Strife in increasing girls’ access to youth sports by furnishing them with apt equipment.
The organization’s Fly: FWD mission is to get about 30, 000 sports bras to young female athletes. This is for those who otherwise lack the resources to access the necessary sports gear.

On Instagram she said, “We were all proud to see the smiles on the faces of the young girls in attendance who were inspired by our presence and hopefully will going forward knowing that they are not overlooked!”
This is not the first time she has undertaken social work. Earlier, she was also associated with NBC’s reality program “Stars Earn Stripes”. She took part in raising money for a charity that supports veterans and their children.
