“Zhang Knocks Usyk Out”: Amid Zhilei Zhang Hype, Tyson Fury’s Father John Fury’s Bold Remarks Leaves Fans Divided

After his 3rd-round KO win over Joe Joyce on September 23, the WBO Interim World Heavyweight champion,  Zhilei Zhang suggested he would like to “shut up” Tyson Fury. In light of Zhang’s announcement, John Fury, the father of Tyson Fury predicted the potential outcome of ‘Big Bang’ sharing the boxing ring with ‘The Gypsy King’.

Although John Fury praised Zhang’s quickness besides calling him “a big southpaw,” the former thought the Chinese boxer would make a mistake by facing Tyson Fury. In his opinion, given the size of the Ukrainian boxer, Zhang should rather consider fighting Oleksandr Usyk. In his latest interview with Seconds Out, here is what John Fury said that left boxing fans divided amid Zhilei Zhang hype.

Despite being “big” and possessing “quick hands,” John Fury, who called out Mike Tyson, feels Zhilei Zhang has “got the slowest feet” he has ever seen. Hence, he said, “With feet like that, speed and movement like that forget messing with the GK [Gypsy King].” As per John, even though Zhang is tough, his son Tyson “is a 20-stone unit himself, 6’9“. As a result, he is of the opinion that Zhang will “get his head boxed off and stopped in about seven rounds“.

“Zhilei Zhang or whatever they call him, his face is going to get messed up in four rounds. He’s not got the ability of a class to master the GK,” John added. Although John felt Zhang should avoid Fury, he encouraged ‘Big Bang’ to face Oleksandr Usyk. In his opinion, since Usyk is “too small,” “Zhang knocks Usyk out“. In his opinion, the moment Zhilei would land a shot on Usyk, the latter will be knocked out.

At this, a fan believes Zhang is being underestimated.

On the other hand, one mentioned that Zhang did not beat ‘AJ’ or Deontay Wilder but Joe Joyce. “I think Otto Wallin vs. Uysk is a fight I’d like to see in the meantime,” they added.

According to one fan, “Fury will demolish Zhang.”

Meanwhile, a fan is in agreement with John Fury. In their opinion, Tyson is better than Zhang. However, they felt Usyk would outbox the Chinese fighter too.

On the other hand, one asked why Fury was ducking Usyk if the latter was that easy of a fight.
