In the latest episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, ‘Kid Dynamite’ shared the platform with television host, comedian, and rapper Nick Cannon, widely known for Wild ‘n Out. With the former Heavyweight champion of the world, the 42-year-old opened up about his role models and ambition in life. On being asked about his beginning, Cannon happily informed DJ Whoo Kid and Tyson how he came to Hollywood while still in his teens and met Jamie Foxx and Will Smith. By the by, the Love Don’t Cost a Thing actor shared how Smith later introduced him to producer Quincy Jones.

As per Cannon, Quincy Jones, who has produced household names like Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, and Aretha Franklin, has left a lasting influence on him. In fact, Cannon admitted that he aspired to be the next Quincy Jones and help others achieve their dreams. At this, quite respectfully, Mike Tyson hit Cannon with a bittersweet truth.

Speaking about his ambition, Cannon declared that he wished to be a big gun like Quincy Jones or two-time Grammy winner Harry Belafonte. “My mission, my calling is to provide platforms and help other people with their dreams. The goal is to be the next Quincy Jones. My goal is to be the next Harry Belafonte,” told Nick Cannon. In Cannon’s humble opinion, Jones and Belafonte have shifted and changed the culture. Likewise, Cannon wants “to create opportunities whether it’s through entertainment or business“. “I gotta help the next generation,” he emphasized.

As soon as Cannon said he wished to occupy the same space as Jones and Belafonte, Tyson declared that Cannon was barely “halfway there“. According to Tyson, although a number of people think Cannon is already “as big as those guys“, the television host has a long path to travel. Thus, Tyson said, “Listen, I’m not taking anything away from him. They’re putting in a lot of work but your name is still up there with them. And you’re not even halfway there yet. It’s a whole different game.” As expected, the humble Nick Cannon agreed on Mike Tyson’s point.
