Tyson Fury is a giant among the giants and has managed to stay undefeated throughout his career. Even when he faced off against a knockout artist like Deontay Wilder, he didn’t lose. Thus this will be a mammoth test for Ngannou as he appears to be the underdog for the upcoming matchup. However, boxing legend Mike Tyson certainly holds his current mentee in high regard. Speaking of being trained by the former champion, Ngannou acknowledged that they are not of the same size.

He also admitted that both have different styles as well. However, Tyson after taking these differences into consideration, is focusing on “some points that will be very important.” Ngannou stated that there will be some points which “will be similar for everybody, for everybody’s style.” According to the fighter, Tyson is focusing on these points and helping him sharpen, better, and be more efficient with his style.

Ngannou added, “So that’s mostly what we’re doing, because- like you see Mike Tyson’s style I think is unique from him. You never see that from anybody. And you can’t just expect that- ‘Oh I have fight in three months, Let’s get Mike Tyson and fight like Mike Tyson.’ No.”

It appears that knowing the sheer difficulty of the task, Tyson has come up with a strategy to focus on the important elements of boxing that are universal to all pugilists rather than producing a mere copycat version of himself.
