Tyson lived a life of discipline and continues to advocate for that lifestyle and regime. During an episode of his podcast, Jorge Masvidal, the guest and the former UFC fighter was curious to know why Tyson used to wake up at 4 A.m. In response, ‘Iron Mike,’ revealed that he wanted a holistic day of training that included, spars, road work, and strength training. Waking up early in the morning allowed him to be productive in all those facets. In addition, he claimed waking up at 4 a.m. used to give him mental confidence as his opponents were sleeping while he was grinding.
Reflecting on the same, he stated, “First of all that’s what I like. I wanted all the fight. I want the rest, the running, I wanted that boxing sparring and plus psychologically if I get up three or four in the morning, you know my opponent’s not up at three of four in the morning so that’s my psychological advantage.”
Tyson’s discipline and work ethic bore fruit as he had an illustrious career. Apart from that, his back story captivated the fans at large and left them inspired to write their own tales. In the same interview, Tyson further elaborated on his training regime.

During the episode, Masvidal was curious to know how long Tyson had his sessions during training camp and what are the things he did in a day. Tyson gave a comprehensive answer in which he revealed the exact details of his training routine. He stated, “After four’o clock, I come back home, do some exercises then I take a hot bath and go back to sleep. Maybe eating breakfast as-well. Go to gym and box 10 rounds, maybe worked up to 10 rounds. Then do road work and do bag.”
It is safe to say that his regime is not everyone’s cup of tea, to say the least. However, many boxers of this generation look up to him and implement his style of training.
