Jones Jr recently made an appearance on a podcast. And he talked about one of the most controversial fights in boxing. He talked about why beating Pacquiao in 2015 is not something one can take credit for. And gave Mayweather Jr something to think about.
Jones Jr said, “I would not be able to take credit for beating Pacquiao after he got knocked up by Marquez because that’s not the same Pacquiao.” Furthermore, the boxing legend talked about the knockout of Pacquiao by Marquez. And it seems like he believes that Pacquiao has never been the same since that 2012 fight against Marquez. He added,” That’s not the Pacquiao at the top of his game. “

Further giving a reality check about Mayweather’s legendary status following his victory over Pacquiao, Jones Jr added, “Today we call that person the best fighter ever. But, that’s not reality”.
The legend believes that the win should not be perceived the way it is by the people. But, understanding the dynamics of the boxing business, while talking about Mayweather Jr’s glory for beating Pacquiao, he said, “But in the business world, it is.”
