Transitioning from the intense buildup, the recent interview with David Benavidez brought a surprising revelation. As he reflected on his past bouts, particularly the emotionally charged fight against Caleb Plant, a notable shift in his mindset surfaced. This time, as he prepares to face Demetrius Andrade, his tone and approach seem radically different.

“I know with the Caleb fight it was personal for you because you know there’s a lot of beef there. And I noticed like the intensity was like a different level of intensity. Now with Demetrius like it’s kind of hard not to dislike the guy cause he’s funny, he’s a little goofy sometimes. Is there any change in intensity seeing that there’s not an extreme dislike for him?” the interviewer asked.

Benavidez replied, “No! I honestly feel like he’s even in more danger because now I’m not wasting that energy on basically bulls**t. You know you have a beef like that it’s just bulls**t. You guys are going to fight anyways but it makes you go into the ring with certain emotions that you know sometimes you want to just hit him with one big shot. With this fight there’s no hard feelings to Boo Boo Andrade. I know he’s a great fighter but I feel like once I’m not in that cloud of hate in my head I could really go to work and work on combinations. At the end of the day just have fun you know let my combination free, go freely and you know all just be who I am.”

His words resonated with a newfound clarity and purpose, signaling a potentially more dangerous and focused version of himself in the ring. This shift in attitude, moving away from emotional engagement to a more tactical mindset, might just be the key factor in his upcoming fight with Andrade.
