Back in 2020, Tyson Fury took down the hard-hitting Deontay Wilder in a dominant show of performance. Before Fury, Deontay was reigning over the heavyweight division as the mighty ruler who could put his opponents to sleep with one punch. However, when the ‘Bronze Bomber’ met ‘Gypsy King’ Fury in the ring, his kingdom was stolen from him. Unable to cope with his first career loss, Wilder accused Fury of tampering with his gloves. An accusation that Joe Rogan had to address when speaking to Fury’s upcoming opponent, Francis Ngannou.
‘The Predator’ Ngannou will go up against the ‘Gypsy King’ on September 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the leadup to the highly discussed clash, Fury is people’s choice for the winner. Nevertheless, Francis has left no stone unturned in his quest to secure victory, even hiring the legend himself, Mike Tyson. However, there is one thing that has been eating away at Francis for some time. It’s all about the controversy surrounding Fury’s gloves. So, Ngannou turned to Joe Rogan for advice. The podcaster and UFC commenter swiftly dispelled any doubts, assuring Ngannou that the accusations were baseless.

Tyson Fury’s glove tampering allegations fail to convince Joe Rogan
While appearing in Joe Rogan’s podcast, Ngannou expressed his doubts about Fury’s gloves. So, Rogan clarified the accusations in detail. Rogan asserted he had seen all the YouTube videos of people accusing Fury of tampering with his gloves, but they were not convincing. “I’ve seen the Deontay Wilder videos, but they’re not convincing,” said Rogan.
Rogan argues that, in slow motion, the boxing gloves appear floppy and disconnected. But in actuality, Fury’s boxing style involves quick, flicking movements where he keeps his hands loose deliberately. It allows Fury to distract his opponent and deliver a powerful shot. “It looks like his glove is flopping all over the place, but that’s just because it’s in slow motion,” said Rogan.

“He’s doing this, you know. He flicks, flicks, flicks, he shows you it, then he drops a big punch,” said Rogan. He further claimed that Fury’s style makes one think that his knuckles are where the wrap of the gloves should be. However, according to Rogan, that’s far from the truth because Fury’s arm’s length doesn’t allow that to happen. “Where his knuckles are is where the wrap is, but that’s not the case because if you look at the length of his arm, none of that makes sense,” Rogan told Ngannou.
Later during the podcast, Rogan calls out the people who accused Fury of cheating by claiming they don’t know what they are talking about. “His gloves attached, you don’t know what the f*** you’re talking about,” Rogan said. He even went a step further by claiming – if Fury’s gloves were not attached, he would not have been able to fold his palm.

After the explanation from Rogan, Ngannou seemed relaxed about the whole controversy surrounding Fury’s gloves. So, Ngannou confessed there is no harm in double-checking in the rare case the allegations are true. What are your thoughts on Fury’s glove situation?
