It seems like Adrien Broner has done some serious soul-searching and is back in the boxing ring to win some of the titles he has always been eyeing. The boxer has on multiple counts proven his boxing prowess in international title fights. But he has fallen short of emerging as a legend. This is attributed to the inconsistency and unprofessionalism he has shown in his career.

The former four-division world champion announced earlier that he would be moving back to the 140-pound class to unify the belts. This came as he defeated Bill Hutchinson in Miami. This was the first time he entered the ring since 2021 when he defeated Jovanie Santiago by a unanimous decision. As he hopes to redeem himself in the sport, his past seems to not have been lost in the eyes of boxing enthusiasts.

The boxer who has been heavily criticized in the past hopes to rise back and win the titles that he once forbade. Taking to his stories on Instagram, the boxer said, “I’m trying to become a boxing world champion again cause the champ in the streets only get crowded after he die.” The cryptic message hinting toward him getting back into the ring comes amidst him using his social media for seeking a chance from his fans to see him succeed.

Adrien posted on his Instagram taking accountability for everything that went wrong in his life. He said that he has been battling with himself lately, and is trying to eliminate everything that stops him from achieving his true potential. He mentioned his vices to be alcoholism, sexual temptations, and gambling. The boxer further sought forgiveness from his uncle who is also his coach for always being by him and training him to be back in the ring. Broner also thanked Don King for giving him another chance as he looks to revamp his boxing career.

What went so wrong in his life?

Broner is a stellar fighter who has time and again proven the same by winning multiple international titles. He rose to fame by becoming a champion in four weight classes. He did so by defeating the greatest boxers in the world. However, he saw his downfall when the victories got to him, and he slipped down the curve. As he wrapped up his victory against Jovanie in 2021, he was sent to jail for violating the terms of his probation after failing to sign with a court-mandated alcohol program.

However, his entry back at 140 will be a challenge for him. The competitive division has the likes of Josh Taylor, Regis Prograis, and Jose Ramirez all holding world titles.
