Fight Date and Venue
There’s not much time left for the ground-breaking spectacle when Alvarez and Charlo will raise their hands against each other at the opposite sides of the ring’s corner. The clock is ticking, and only a week’s time is left. The fight is scheduled for September 30, where all four super middleweight belts will be put on stake.
The date is a bit unusual for ‘Cinnamon’ as he usually schedules his fight around the weekend of September 15, to commemorate the Mexican Independence Day. But it was pushed a little further down the calendar this time.
The fight will happen at the second home of the Mexican boxer, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. A lot of fights have been scheduled in this arena in the past. So, a crowd of 20,000 boxing fans can be expected during the fight. But, before going further into the fight details, let’s see how the fight really came about.
The Road to the Fight: Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo
It’s a great few months ahead for boxing, as the sport is going to garner some of the best title fights of the entire year. The rematch of Chantelle Cameron vs. Katie Taylor for all of the junior welterweight titles and the featherweight title defense of Leigh Wood against Josh Warrington. But before this, the collision of the two undisputed champions is going to take place.

Interestingly, at first, it was rumored that Canelo Alvarez would be facing Jermall Charlo, the older Charlo twin brother, for the first fight of his PBC’s three-fight deal. It also made sense, as Jermall just had to move up one weight class to face Alvarez. But the later announcement of Jermell Charlo being Alvarez’s first opponent in the PBC’s deal was a shock to a lot of fans. Since he was a super welterweight fighter before he took up this challenge.
So, now on September 30, the world will see Charlo with a two-and-a-half-inch reach advantage going against a veteran in the division, who’s had 63 fights before he’s even hit 35. Undoubtedly, the fight is going to answer a lot of questions for both of them. Let’s see how the fans would be able to stream the fight from their home.
Where can fans screen the match?
Alvarez vs. Charlo has become one of the most anticipated bouts of the year moving forward. So, the fans who can’t be there at the venue would want to watch the fight directly streamed to their home. So, the fans can access the live coverage on SHOWTIME’s streaming channel. However, this is exclusive to US residents only, as of now.
There’s no information yet regarding the fans residing in the United Kingdom. SHOWTIME is still yet to devise a way to make the fight reach its fans worldwide through appropriate pay-per-view access. Hopefully, they will be announcing something soon. Still, let’s see at what time should the fans tune in for this exciting matchup.
