Recently a situation arose in the boxing world that shook the sport and left the enthusiasts stunned. It involved Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre whose name was on the rise after two of his trained fighters proved their might in the sport. BoMac not only trained Terence Crawford who handed a dominating defeat to former unified Welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. but he also trained Chris Eubank Jr. who also finally took his redemption recently as he defeated Liam Smith in a similar fashion during their rematch bout.

What’s more is that Eubank Jr. had switched his trainers from Roy Jones Jr. to McIntyre mid-camp, a move which raised a lot of doubts in the fans’ minds. However, with the victory it was clear that the 53-year-old is certainly a talented trainer. But the trainer found himself in a lot of trouble as he got arrested for ‘possession of a firearm’ at the Manchester Airport. The news quickly made headlines, leaving everyone baffled. Here is what the founder and CEO of Top Rank has to say about the matter.

Recently after the first conference for the Tyson Fury Francis Ngannou bout, promoter Bob Arum did an interview with Pro Boxing Fans. As the video surfaced on YouTube, the interviewer addressed BoMac’s situation and asked if the promoter had any thoughts on the matter. As he spoke about the situation, the British promoter too looked confused. He stated that even he was shocked about the news, stating, “I am really, you know, I’m shocked.”

Furthermore, he stated, “What’s he doing with a goddamn gun. I mean again so much damage is caused in the United States with the everybody of many people have firearms.” The promoter emphasized the stark contrast between the United States and the U.K. He said, “But you don’t take firearms over to the U.K which has sensible gun laws. But again I don’t know anything about it.” He pondered the reason behind taking a firearm to a country with strict regulations. Arum acknowledged that BoMac is a “nice guy and a decent man” and wished him the best. However, he ended the interview by stating that he couldn’t comment on the situation.
