The fight night is almost here, folks! So, all the pre-fight shenanigans for David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade are in full force. On that note, a poster for the upcoming fight is making the rounds on the internet. While all the major names involved in the fight were featured on the poster, one face stole the show. However, not for the reason one might think. Instead, the topic of discussion became Benavidez’s new look, something even Claressa Shields commented on.

With a mere five days from the fight night, a user turned to X (formerly Twitter), sharing the poster for the fight. Besides the main card, the poster featured the likes of Jose Benavidez, Jermall Charlo, Subriel Matias, Hector Luis Garcia, and Lamont Roach. Despite having such giants involved in the fight, ‘The Mexican Monster’ seemed popular in the comment section. As the post started circulating, Benavidez quickly became the butt of all jokes because of his new look.

Since the poster went live on the platform, it has gathered over 68K views, nearly 500 hearts, and a plethora of comments on Benavidez’s new look. 

Claressa ‘The Goat’ Shields quickly found the poster floating on the platform, so she expressed her surprise by suggesting it was not Benavidez.

Another user could not believe it was ‘The Mexican Monster,’ questioning if he really looked like that now.

The next user could not bring himself to accept Benavidez’s new look.

Someone else roped in Jermall Charlo, claiming both Benavidez and Charlo looked “crazy.”

One user simply questioned what happened to Benavidez.

While people on X poked fun at his new look, David expressed he wanted to do what he could not in his last fight. According to an article from Boxing Scene, Benavidez vowed to stop Demetrius while expressing disappointment with failing to knock out his previous opponent during his media day workout.

“I do expect to stop Andrade…My last fight went the distance, and I was upset about that,” said Benavidez. He went on to confess that he would change that outcome in his fight against Demetrius. “We’re gonna correct that and stop Demetrius Andrade,” said ‘The Mexican Monster.’ While Benavidez is confident about his upcoming fight, only time will tell if he can mirror his claim inside the ring.
