A short video clip joined the YouTube shorts today. It might surprise many to witness another member of the Mayweather clan swinging into action. In the footage, Jeff Mayweather, former IBF Super Featherweight title holder and younger brother of Floyd Mayweather Sr., moves around with boxing pads as his nephew, Justin Mayweather Jones, follows him, firing punches, one-two, and combinations. The experienced trainer even explained a backward move to the young boxer.
So far, the clip has racked up around ninety-five likes and nearly two thousand views. It is gaining some traction among followers, whose curiosity got the better, coming across a scion of the legendary boxing family. Of the nine children born to Theartha and Bernice Mayweather, three, Floyd Sr., Roger, and Jeff, chose boxing as a career. The trio’s career remained as eventful as possible. Nevertheless, the mantle fell to Floyd Sr.’s son Floyd Mayweather Jr., who would take the family name to the heights of the boxing world.

An Olympic bronze medalist, the junior became a five-division champion and retired undefeated—one of the greatest in the sport’s history. According to ‘familytron.com,’ Justin Mayweather Jones was born on April 21, 1987. Half-brother to Mayweather Jr., he debuted as a professional boxer on July 6, 2013, in the Welterweight division. But his record seems erratic. After his debut, he returned to the ring only in 2016, fighting two bouts that year. His fourth bout occurred in 2018.

He participated in two matches each year in 2019 and 2020. However, the one fought on February 15, 2020, remaining the last bout he participated in. Nevertheless, Mayweather Jones remains an undefeated boxer, with five of his six wins coming through knockouts. Unfortunately, there remains a lack of clarity on what Justin Mayweather Jones has been doing recently. His half-brother, though, continues to fight in exhibition matches despite his age of forty-six. As active as he could be, the undefeated former champion would embark on an African tour next month.
