We are just a few days away from the big clash between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. It is a much-awaited matchup that has been creating a lot of hype over the years. As the two pound-for-pound fighters gear up to meet inside the ring, it is difficult to predict who will win the bout. But there is one thing the boxing world remains sure of. On 29th July, we will know who among the two will emerge victorious.

Many names from the boxing fraternity have opined about the much-anticipated fight. They have made their predictions and announced who they will support on boxing’s biggest night. Floyd Mayweather too seems to have made his pick between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford. And in a resurfaced video, the 50-boxer was very appreciative of Crawford’s boxing acumen, even going to the extent of comparing him to his younger version.

It is very difficult to achieve what Mayweather Jr. had in his career. The man has a legacy that is unmatched to anyone else’s but when he says that he sees a lot of himself in a fighter, it is indeed a big deal. In a video that has resurfaced on the internet, Pretty Boy can be seen talking about Bud. The veteran said, “Terence Crawford is a hell of a fighter. Do I think he gonna be in the Hall of Fame? Absolutely.”

He compared the fighter to his younger self. ‘Money’ Mayweather said, “We are not talking about Money Mayweather, We are talking about Pretty Boy Mayweather. We are talking about a 90% knockout ratio. We are talking fast hands, fast feet, and combination. I mean, a complete fighter.” 

However, Crawford will face his biggest challenge yet and he still has a long way to go before even coming close to equaling Mayweather’s boxing record.

What lies ahead for Crawford and Spence Jr.?

With a combined victory record of 67, 52 through knockouts, both Crawford and Spence Jr. are putting their respective titles on the line for this bout. The match does hold a rematch clause in its contract. Errol will be bringing his WBO championship and Spence his WBC, IBF, and WBA welterweights titles. All the crucial titles in the weight class are on the line this time.

But what happens to the winner of the matchup? Who is their mandatory opponent? Eimantas Stanionis, the WBA (Regular) welterweight champion will be the mandatory challenger for the winner of the fight as sanctioned by the WBA.
