On 26th August, Oleksandr Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois in the 9th round with a short right hand. However, as per Michael Benson from talkSport, Frank Warren said he will appeal the decision so the fight can be declared a no contest. To be exact, he said, “I’d like them to declare it a no contest because Daniel should have those three belts around his waist, but if we can get it to a rematch, then that’s where we’ll get to.”

Warren’s no-contest claim hinges on Dubois’ body shot to Usyk, deemed a low blow. Usyk’s history of voicing complaints about low blows reinforces Warren’s argument. If the regulatory authority backs Warren’s request, it is likely that Usyk will have to face Dubois again to resolve the issue.

After the smoke cleared, Dubois came forward for the interview with TNT Sports. With disappointment dripping from his face, he said, “ No, I don’t think it was a low blow; I have been cheated out of a victory tonight. What else can I say?”

Warren backed his statement and asked for replaying the clip for the people to see. He also pointed out, “If it was a low blow, why weren’t any points taken from him.” Some people would say Warren is biased – others would disagree. But at the end of the day, all fans can do is wait for the higher-ups to decide what to do next.
