Tim Tszyu Warns Keith Thurman of Bringing Totally Different Style Than Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios

Tim Tszyu’s recent comments to Thaboxingvoice threw an unexpected punch. Tszyu and Keith Thurman are set to clash on March 30th, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. This non-title bout at 155 pounds promises fireworks. Thurman, with his illustrious past, faces Tszyu, the undefeated Australian sensation.

Tszyu hinted at a unique challenge for Thurman, distinct from his encounters with Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios. What’s brewing in Tszyu’s camp might just redefine the fight’s anticipation. Oddly enough, Tszyu believes history lessons on Thurman offer him little advantage.

Different styles, different threat

Tim Tszyu’s words carry the weight of his confidence and strategic foresight. In a revealing segment of his interview with Thaboxingvoice, Tszyu openly discussed his approach to the impending battle against Keith Thurman.

“Something that we’ve seen with Keith is the layoffs. He had one going into the Pacquiao fight, had another one going into the Barrios fight, has one in this fight going in with you. Is there anything out of those two fights that you’re able to kind of learn from?” He continued, “Because obviously people talk about Keith and the Danny Garcia and the Shawn Porter fight but I think we haven’t seen that Keith in quite some time. What do you really expect?” the interviewer probed.

Tszyu’s response is both direct and enlightening, shedding light on his tactical mindset. “No, not really, in all honesty we all got different styles and it’s all about when two styles collide, what’s going to happen. Pacquiao is a complete different fighter to me, same as Barrios. I’ll bring something completely different to the table, so what Keith is thinking that’s worked with someone else might not work with me you know. So styles make fights,”  Tszyu articulated, emphasizing the uniqueness of his style compared to Thurman’s previous opponents.

Furthermore, Tszyu’s commentary not only reflects his readiness to adapt but also underscores the unpredictability he brings into the ring. He also claimed to not be bothered by anything that Keith says.

Tszyu critiques Thurman: More bark than bite?

Tim Tszyu doesn’t mince words when it comes to Keith Thurman’s approach to trash talk. Reflecting on Thurman’s comments, Tszyu expressed confusion and skepticism. “I’m not sure what he’s implying there. Maybe he thinks I’m easy to hit?” he pondered.  He noted Thurman’s quick backtrack at the press conference, suggesting, “he knew he f***ed up.” Delving deeper, Tszyu offered a blunt assessment of Thurman’s character.

“The guy doesn’t think before he speaks… He’s just a little yapper,”  ‘The Soul Taker’ remarked, drawing parallels to Thurman’s pre-fight antics with Manny Pacquiao. The Australian concluded with a vivid analogy, “And I’ve always found the bigger the dog, the less they bark. But Chihuahuas, they’re [going to] yap. It’s all for show.”
