Keyshawn Davis is all set to start from where he left off a few months ago. In exciting news for his fans, and his much-awaited chance at redemption, the lightweight fighter is all set to push his 9-0 boxing record to a stellar 10-0.

In October this year, in the wake of his majority-decision victory over Nahir Albright, his promoter, Top Rank Boxing announced that he tested positive for Marijuana. The promotion company, led by Bob Arum, supports marijuana legalization. However, the fighter was suspended by the Texas Commission for 90 days. This suspension turned his Albright victory into a no-decision. Now, with the suspension elapsing mid-January, the fighter has already landed his comeback.

Peurto Rican, Jose Pedraza, known as the ‘sniper’ was proposed as an opponent to Keyshawn before his Albright fight. However, in light of his suspension, the fight was pushed to early 2024, right after his suspension would be lifted. But the Pedraza fight is not the only one on the cards for ‘Businessman.’

Earlier, in an Instagram live, the promoter and Keyshawn engaged in a fun-filled conversation. Their talks were shadowed by the victory Andy Cruz had just secured against Jovanni Straffon via a 3rd round knockout. Praising Keyshawn for his boxing prowess, Hearn however warned him not to clash with Cruz. He said, “Listen, listen, you know I got love for you, but OMG, make sure you never fight Andy Cruz.” The fighter, confident of his abilities paid no heed to the promoter’s warning. He noted, “Just know there are certain levels to the amateur game, in pros, there are no more levels.”

Countering Keyshawn’s ‘levels’ argument, Hearn reminded the fighter, “To be fair there are levels in the amateur game but he beat you every time.” In their amateur days, both Keysawn and Cruz clashed four times over the years, each time the latter going home on the sounds of victory. But now, in the professional league, Keyshawn is confident that he can win against Cruz. He noted, “I’m one of these ones that’s winning the fight, and you know that.”
