There is nobody on God’s green earth who isn’t familiar with the boxing titan that is Muhammed Ali. The undisputed boxing champion is now survived by his legacy. Laila Ali followed in the footsteps of her father and became a boxing sensation during her stint in the industry. However, it isn’t her former boxing titles that are making rounds on social media.
The former boxer and TV personality took to Instagram to divulge a common household mistake that she herself doesn’t make and does not want her million fan following to make either.

Laila Ali: Beyond the boxing ring
In a world where we’re all conscious of hygiene, Laila Ali’s stance on keeping shoes outside the house is relevant now more than ever. According to a video she shared on her social media, there’s a study that found a staggering 90 to 99% of germs on our shoes can make their way onto our floor tiles. That’s a whole lot of germs just waiting to cause trouble in people’s homes.
The video goes on to relay points about those germs getting picked up by a crawling baby, a curious toddler, or even pets. If that thought spooked the lady bruiser, it sure can give a mere mortal the creeps.
So, what does Laila Ali have to do with all of this? Well, she’s a staunch advocate for leaving shoes at the door. According to Laila, she has a sign on her front and back doors to remind everyone that dirty shoes stay outside where they belong.

Laila understands that keeping our homes clean is more than just a chore; it’s about safeguarding the health of family members. Her message is crystal clear: “This is why we don’t wear shoes in the house.”
