Mike Tyson has always believed that cannabis played a significant role in his career and life. According to him, it has positively influenced him both physically and mentally. As a result, the former Heavyweight champion of the world wishes to share the same “gift” with those who look for “relief“. In this connection, with his friends and partners, ‘Kid Dynamite’ launched Tyson 2.0, “a premier cannabis company” which sells pre-rolled joints, marijuana concentrates, edibles, and drinks.

With Tyson’s public image, the brand has seen laudable success. In fact, recent reports announced Tyson 2.0 could make $160 Million in fiscal year 2023. In this context, during an exclusive with EssentiallySports, the CEO of Tyson 2.0 Adam Wilks revealed how Mike Tyson would try the products before they went to market and ensure authenticity.

As per Adam Wilks, his partners Mike Tyson and Ric Flair are very strict about the authenticity of the commodities that they send to market. Likewise, Tyson and Flair always make sure that they are trying out the products they are selling. According to Wilks, “There’s not a single product that has gone to market that Mike and Ric haven’t tried“. In this context, Wilks mentioned their collaboration with Big Pete’s when they produced the 100mg THC Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. Back then, to guarantee authenticity, Tyson had personally not only selected the flavor but also the ingredients and even sampled the cookies.

We keep it as authentic as when we did these cookies for Mike with Big Pete’s. I had fifteen different-flavored cookies baked for Mike to try to figure out which one was his favorite. So, everything we do is authentic to the talent and celebrity to again ensure authenticity,” assure Wilks. At this, Wilks also spoke about their Sunday ritual where they would sit together, smoke, and try out different strains.

Wilks recounts “beautiful” Sundays with Tyson and cannabis

As per Wilks, before launching their products, every Sunday, they would sit together and inspect different strains. In his opinion, it is a “beautiful thing” they did on Sundays. “Every Sunday when we were launching Tyson 2.0 for the first three months, every Sunday you had to get together with Mike. We would go through a dozen different strains, we would be smoking them, different raisins,” recounted Wilks. While concluding, he added, “Ric loves our product so much. I’m getting calls from him all the time, saying, ‘Eat more Edibles, eat more Edibles’.”
