Jermall Charlo has been out of boxing for a while now, his last fight being back in 2021 against Juan Macias Montiel. Since then he hasn’t fought anyone else even though there have been talks of him returning. Earlier this year, Regis Prograis also revealed that the boxer is facing a lot of “personal problems.” Moreover, he was supposed to be the one facing Canelo Alvarez, at first, and the two were indeed going to have a bout. However, the news soon came out that Alvarez would be facing Jermell Charlo. Unfortunately,  Jermall is still trying to sort out his personal issues.

Though there are talks that he will face the Mexican icon next after his brother. but the fans do not have much hope regarding the fight because of his 2-year hiatus from the sport. A couple of months ago, Charlo came out and shared his intention to make a return to the ring. Moreover, Roy Jones Jr. is currently the one training him.

Speaking about Charlo, ‘Captain Hook’ once stated, “My goal is to get him back on the right path because when he’s on the right path, he’s a monster and hard to beat.” Recently a video from his sparring sessions surfaced on social media. In the video, Charlo threw a powerful headshot at his partner, which had his opponent stumbling backward after it landed on his chin. Even Jones appeared surprised at the shot, though the boxer still didn’t get knocked out and continued the session.

Fans’ reaction to Jermall Charlo almost knocking his opponent out

Jermall Charlo, the 160lb champ, recently created a lot of noise in the boxing world with a mighty left hook during a sparring session. However, fans’ reactions to this display of power have been mixed. While some fans remained in awe of his extraordinary strength, others were less than impressed with his feat.

One fan pointed out the irony in the situation that Charlo’s sparring partner was wearing a “Heath is wealth” t-shirt while taking such a powerful hit. He joked, “Health is wealth on his t-shirt – proceeds to take full power CTE riddled headshots and continues.”

Another fan was not impressed by the pace at which Jermall threw his punches. “Slower than usual,” They wrote.

Meanwhile, one fan cleared the confusion among a lot of fans who thought this was Jermell sparring. He clarified, “Guys, this is the 160lb champ whose been inactive for 2 years. This is not the brother that’s fighting Canelo!”. One fan stated, “There’s no honor in knocking out a sparring partner.”

Someone else addressed Canelo’s remark that Jermell is the better boxer among the brothers. He stated, “This one is the better one just matter of time right path, and people will see.” It seems that the fan holds a different opinion than the undisputed champion.

Another fan pointed out that the boxer in the video was just a “sparring partner.” Additionally, he wrote, “We’ve never heard of him. Who cares. These guys wouldn’t last in the ring with these fighters anyways.”

Overall, even though the middleweight champion is trying his best to get back at boxing, fans are still doubting his ability.
