Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn is grabbing headlines in the boxing world. However, talks to finalize this fight are still underway. There’s no official confirmation yet, leaving fans eager for a date. As renowned, a fight between Chris and Conor Benn was supposed to happen earlier. The fight was even billed as “Born Rivals.” However, it has been postponed indefinitely now due to doping allegations on Benn.

Last October, officials found trace amounts of the fertility drug Clomiphene in Benn’s urine. The World Boxing Council (WBC) later cleared Benn, stating he didn’t intentionally dope. Benn has always denied knowingly using banned substances. UKAD is still investigating Benn despite the WBC clearance. However, there’s a sharp war of words happening between both adversaries. Furthermore, this has even made the fight more personal. In an interview with Boxing Social, Benn has recently elucidated why he needs the fight to happen.

How will Conor Benn settle his terms with Chris Eubank Jr?

In a straightforward interview, he openly challenged Eubank Jr. to a fight that could attract 75,000 fans. Benn’s challenge directly answers Eubank Jr.’s subtle insult, showing he won’t back down. He said, “I mean, there’s a lot of demand for it. I think the difference now is it’s so personal between me and Chris. You know, you never kick a man when he’s down, especially going through what I was going through, and then lying about the truth. You know, it’s not the right thing to do. So, you know, there’s only one way to settle this. And you know, that’s in front of 70 to 75,000 people. You know, and I get to do the honors. I’ll probably be doing everyone a favor, to be honest.”

According to him, it’s more than a personal grudge. It’s about proving who’s the best on a grand stage. Benn is open to fighting in multiple weight classes, adding extra excitement to this already thrilling potential bout. But, why is Benn so triggered by Chris? This is because of his recent snarking remarks.

Chris Eubank Jr. gives a grim reality check to Benn

Noted Boxing Journalist Michael Benson shared Chris Eubank Jr.’s opinions on X (formerly Twitter). Eubank Jr. stated that Conor Benn has forfeited all his advantages due to his failed drug tests. He also claimed to be the dominant party, or “A-side,” in any potential match-up between them. Eubank Jr. further added saying, “I’m the A-side. It will happen. I can’t tell you when. He still has issues to smooth out and I have options. That fight doesn’t need to be rushed. Benn isn’t going anywhere.”

Eubank Jr.’s comments serve as a harsh wake-up call for Benn, who is already grappling with doping accusations. The remarks also cast doubt on the likelihood of a future fight, suggesting Benn has “challenges to resolve,” indicating a long journey ahead for him to face Eubank Jr. This tweet intensifies their ongoing feud and adds uncertainty to a future showdown.
